I am the adminstrator on my local machine running XP SP2, it it not networked and until today when it booted, the mouse buttons were set to be swapped over with the right button as the primary button. i.e. the checkbox "switch primary and secondary mouse buttons" was set. Now, after installing some software from Logitech (then uninstalling it again) the settings are not remembered and the PC boots with the flag cleared and my mouse buttons set right handed. There is no FAQ on the logitech site re this and in any case the software was for a keyboard rather than a mouse. There are no mouse specific settings on the software. How do I get my settings permanently saved or see what is resetting them?
When I look in the registry under "current user" SwapMouseButtons is set to 0 even though in control panel, the checkbox is ticked.

You could try going back to a "restore" point before you initially installed the Logitech software.

Second option is to edit the Registry and change the switch settings bit to a 1.
