i wanna play basketball for skool next year but im afraid to try out. i havent played organized since a few years ago. lack of confidence and intimidation made me not try out this year. im kinda like an underdog in basketball. some people put me down about my game and i let it get to me. how do i get over it??? Im a pure perimeter shooter on and dribbling and defense aren't my best skills. how do i improve for next year??

PRACTICE EVERY DAY, and MAKE SURE YOU GET TO THE TRYOUT!

Don't let it get to you dude. You got all year to improve for next year's tryouts.

Hey if you're a perimeter shooter, emulate Richard Hamilton's game. Practice getting off screens and develop a really, really quick release. You'll also need a lot of energy for that. And practice reading the defense, too, so you can get to the open spots and make like Jason Kapono.

For dribbling you need to keep the ball in your hands at all time. Dribble, dribble, dribble. The more the ball is in your hand the more it becomes and extension of you. Hey what's the worst that can happen if you try out? You don't make it. Not the end of the world. Good luck.

The first thing you need to do is make sure your grades are up to snuff, you must have a certain GPA to play sports in school now a days.

learn how to drive. Being able to shoot 3s and drive is dangerous for the defense.

Just always practice...everything you can possibly think of.
