Like a certain person whose articles I enjoy from time to time, I like to offer several options.
Some believe that the basics involved such as the weight and expansion speed of particles, the photon to baryon ratio, etc and add nauseum are so fine tuned for life that some higher power and intellect must have been involved.
Other theories suggest that it was all random and "just happened" to work in a way that created life.
Yet others believe there are multiple megagalaxies in which all kinds of ratios and masses occur that, eventually, create life by the law of averages.
Entertainment wise? I have nothing though both "2001: a Space Oddysey" and "Reality Bites" keep having a knock down drag out in my head for some reason...
