I'm 15, 5'8 and 130 (Not sure if that is needed.) I always have cold hands and feet and can never warm them up. Even after jogging, lifting weights they're still cold. However, sometimes they are not, it's very weird. Also, today, the first time this has happened, 1 of my hands is warm while my feet and other hand are cold.

Check with your doctor for a possible thyroid problem. The thyroid regulates your bodys temperature mechanism.

I am a smoker and have cold hands and feet but also have poor circulation. For years my feet would cramp up so I decided to put on warm socks at night to sleep and it helps. Gloves could help your hands or they sell hand warmers too. The blood doesn't flow to your extremeties such as your hands and feet when you are laying down. When you get up....they are below your heart and you get more circulation to them. That's why they are usually warmer then. I have used an electric blanket and still sometimes use an electric throw, but you must be careful with them. I usually put it on top of my covers so I won't get burned. Besides quitting smoking, wear the socks and put a pillow under your feet to keep them elevated above your heart. Exercise, but not near bedtime, will increase your blood circulation. Stay warm! Sorry to hear they don't turn the heat on. That's just terrible as the weather is so unpredictable. Talk to your landlord and see if anything can be done about the heat. I live in an apartment but have control over my heat and pay for it. That's just inhumane. Because I have all electric heat and the bills are high, I am not turning on my heat. I dress in sweats at night and I have something I call a corn-warmer to help keep me warm. It is very hard corn that had been sifted and the corn sewn into a long piece of material. You put it in the microwave for about 4 minutes. It usually keeps me warm all night. (no it doesn't ever pop or burn) I plan on getting a small electric heater to help keep my electric bill down and take it from room to room. You may want to consider that.

I was diagnosed with Raynaud's about 30 years ago. It drives me crazy! I hate being cold. I run into people all the time who have it and don't know it. I just posted something on my blog last night that might be helpful. I'm always looking for ways to find relief. Being around smoke can also cause arteries to constrict, so if you start feeling cold and it doesn't make sense, notice if someone is smoking around you. Check out my blog.

Check for capillary refill in your fingers. Without polish on your fingers pinch your finger tip and see how fast your fingers turn from white back to normal color. If you have a slow response could be poor circulation. Raynauds phenomenon can sometimes make your hands and feet appear red or purplish. You should in any case tell your parents and ask your doctor about it. Not symptoms to ignore.

I'm 14, and my feet and hands are really cold, too. Make sure you have protein and iron. I'm anemic, so this causes me to be cold. Have your mom or dad take you to the doctor.

Could be Raynauds phenomenon. You do need to see your doctor. It isn't life threatening as much as it is a nuisance.
I have it and take medication for it.
Or it could be that you need some Vitamin E. That is always good for poor circulation. Make sure you're taking a good multivitamin as well.

don't know if you're female, but many women have this problem. it's poor circulation and there's not much to do except wear socks and gloves, even in the summertime, on the cold extremities. very sexy!
there may be a hormonal explanation, but I don't know what it is.
