And no.. while they're not antiques, that doesn't preclude them from having value. The determining factors being: demand, rarity, edition status, publisher, author. When those criteria are met then one looks to the condition of the book. Appraising items can be time consuming but the information is out there if you're determined to find it. Suggestion: You can search each title on Ebay or Amazon used books (you may not find your title and will have to check periodically) as well on rare book sites online. I just did a search which took all of two seconds for the Eric Ambler... and 1959 could well be a first edition. http://www.booksandcollectibles.com.au/bsearch.php3?bsearch_submit=Search&auth=Eric%2C+AMBLER&title=Passage+Of+Arms
I would put in the effort and track eack each title down.. you never know!
Hope this helped!

These books are merely OLD.

Antique needs to be much older. There have been books on shelves for hundreds of years and the older the more valuable, but those are probably just Salvation Army/Goodwill shop rejects.

I am not a collector and some of them MAY be rare, but the age is not the qualifier for these books. Why, most of them are printed during MY lifetime. And all printed after my mother was born.

Go to a dealer and ask him.

oftentimes conversing, a e book is nicely worth despite absolutely everyone seems to be keen to pay for it. in case you have been satisfied to pay $one hundred twenty five for it from an outstanding e book broker, then this is probable approximately what it is nicely worth ideal now. What it is going to be nicely worth sooner or later is each man or woman's wager. for my section, i think of it is going to easily rejoice with in keeping with inflation. it is not any longer liable to depreciate no remember if it is stored in good situation - so as long because it is something you are going to appreciate meanwhile, you're no longer liable to be out of pocket, and in some an prolonged time once you bequeath it on your grandchildren, they are going to, little question, be very thrilled. If, on the different hand, you're hoping for a rapid return with some earnings, then i think of it no longer likely; new books signed by employing debut authors are a extra effective investment, (ideally signed, first-coated, dated ... and, if conceivable, doodled too). a very riskier investment, possibly, through fact the ideal fee of the e book relies upon upon no remember if the author strikes directly to super fulfillment or sinks into oblivion. yet once you have good instincts, then a substantial short-term earnings is plenty extra probably.

These are much too recent to be antiques.
There are no titles there that appear to be very collectible so I would say that they are practically worthless.
One good way to find out if they are worth anything is to put them on ebay.

like they said, the books must be more older. their are dates set in order that books must be considered as antiques. not all of your books have meet the date needed, so it is not an antique. ask collectors and dealers. they might give you the price you want to have.

Books from 1955 are NOT ANTIQUES... and why are you asking this question in HISTORY? there is a string on books and authors, so why didn't you ask it THERE.?
