I like knowing that I helped someone, even if it's for the smallest thing. If they have a question about something that could be dumb to others, but they are asking for a reason, so by me being nice and doing it out the kindness of my heart, it makes me feel better that I was able to give an honest good answer with out the sarcasm that most people put on here :)

We sometimes get a little 'lost' in our own little lives to understand what others may be going through. This site opens my eyes to opinions, enables me to talk to a varied amount of different people, and most of all, makes me feel good when i can really help someone out!!
So it is NOT entirely unselfish is it?
Although i am now single, i do not come on here to meet a new partner!! Although i have met some nice people, i come here for the above reasons.

My partner choose not to spend the holidays with me so I am sitting here and thinking how amazing this site is.
Honestly to think that you could help someone just by reading about their problem and send them your love or thoughts.
I asked a silly question tonight and and got 44 answers within a very short time. Some of them where very quick but some of them were very though-full and just reading what other people think helped me a lot.

I try to help....that doesn't mean I succeed. We all have a life somewhere besides here.
It's nice to help someone. I'm single and celibate.
If I can share knowledge on something and help somebody, I will. If I don't know the answer, I won't answer it unless I can think of a really silly answer to make somebody laugh.

and yes you are right.
yes, i do. impacting someones life in a positive way. sometimes it's educational. and cos no one person knows everything, it's better to share ideas. it's like specialization. you will most likely find one person on here who has a clue about something you need to know about.
anyone who uses their brain always have questions. the ancient philosophers used this method to study and i think it's the best way to learn-personally.

Because I'd assume that most people like to help others. Also, some of us want to know the answer to questions (you for example) and it's nice to get your questions answered, so I guess we return the favour and answer other people's questions.
And people seem to like giving advice, or this wouldn't be as successful as it is.
