I just wanted to see if there are any other people out there like me and if so would you share your story. I am only 22 years old and am so paranoid of something going wrong with me. I sometimes get cold sores and when I do I get extremely depressed. I know it is not a big deal but I can't help it. Every little thing that goes wrong with my body freaks me out...even bruises. Anyone else like this...how do you deal with it. It seems to be getting worse as I get older. Thank you

This doesn't actually sound like hypochondriasis, which would cause you to persistently believe something was physically wrong with you even when there wasn't. It seems more like you are suffering from possible anxiety or self-esteem issues because you are reacting excessively to actual problems with your body. I would mention this to your doctor, they could probably refer you to a good doctor or therapist who could help you with these issues. Best of luck!

I am not like this, but I know people who are. I agree that you should see someone about this problem, but I think the first thing to do is accept yourself and your own humanity. Nothing and no one is going to be perfect. Life is full of aches and pains and obstacles that must be overcome. We should ignore the small ones and manage the big ones, not worry about all of them.

You need to talk to someone you trust about this. So much worry isn't good for you. Try to focus on positive things and find something else to do or think about.
