Turtles are cold blooded aren't they. Maybe they don't do much when it is cold.

There are numerous possibilities why your turtle has either not eaten anything, or has stopped eating. Some possibilities are stress, sickness, aggressive feeding by other turtles, their habitat is too cold, incorrect dietary items, putting food in the wrong place (ie: on land for aquatics) or a variety of other reasons. Fixing the problem requires that you identify the reasons for your turtle's not eating. Some eat well, but will not eat ReptoMin or other floating turtle foods. These types you simply have to work with in getting them to take the prepared food items.
sleeping a lot?
This is a big indicator of health problems (see 'Not Basking' above). Usually, this is rectified by an adjustment in temperatures. Turtles that are cold will generally sleep a lot. Try raising the temperatures to the specified settings for your species and give it a day. If this does not help, then seek a qualified vet as soon as possible. Also, be alert for other signs or symptoms that could indicate the possible causes/illness.

At body temperatures of about 40 to 50 degrees F, most reptiles become sluggish, stop eating, and seek hiding places to get safely through the winter.
Many aquatic turtles go into the mud or under the bank where the water is cold but does not freeze. Most reptiles require less oxygen at this time also. Some turtles can stay underwater for days without taking a breath, as long as the water stays cold. Many species actually absorb oxygen from the water through tissues in the throat and tail

Turtles are cold blooded. If his enclosure is too cold he will get very inactive. I just got a turtle myself so I have been reading up on this. A number of sources I have read say its not a good idea to let your captive turtle hibernate. they cannot achive true hibernation in a tank setting and so it is dangerous. You didn't say what kind of turtle you have but most sources I have read say the water sould be 70-75 degrees F and the basking area should be atleast 10 degrees warmer, upto 90 degrees or so, for a red ear slider. She may start eating again if you warm her up.

I once had a turtle....He was a red ear slider. (about half the size of my fist.) When we first got him, he wouldn't eat anything because we didn't really know what to feed him. We were giving him fish food and he would just sniff it & swim off. We were worried he would die, so we gave him some lettuce and he loved it! But we also gave him a minnow, and he ate every bit of it!! (Exept the head.) He loved those so much. We would get some dead minnows and freeze them, and give hime two at a time and he usually ate almost all of them. (His water would get really gross because of the dead fish heads in it, and all the green gunk. When we cleaned out his tank, we would poor the water in the plants and it would help them grow......It worked too!) But before it got cold, I had to let him go so he wouldn't die in his tank I kept him in. I hope your turtle will eat soon! Happy Holidays! :-)
P.S. Your turtle might be hibernating.

how is the water temperature? keep the water temperature at about 75-80 degrees. if the water is warm, the turtle would be able to swim around and could eat. a basking light would be helpful too.

Make it warmer in the tank. Try heating it or something, but not too hot. Or maybe it's just very sick and doesn't want to eat.
