First, Giuliani and McCain are the best of friends; going to baseball games, praising each other as servants of the people, and so forth. McCain and Thompson, of course, have been allies since the 2000 election and their time together in the Senate. And now, there seems to be a tag team running between McCain and Huckabee. All the frontrunners are accounted for in this bond of camaraderie.

Except Mitt Romney. Every one of the aforementioned candidates has taken aim at the former Governor, each seeking to knock him out of the race with one shot; and each on a different front, as the below-mentioned article gives evidence to.

Republicans know they'll need all hands on election day. They have to be united. But if Romney ends up being nominated, how will the others stand behind him? As Huckabee himself noted, "When they're shooting at you, it means you're in front."

I think they are and most likely Romney will win, because he is painting himself as the lone true conservative, as they all should.

It's difficult to really care what the republican strategies are in the face of the horrific things the republicans are doing now.

I think that whoever the republicans put up to run, that person is on a political suicide mission.

America is pretty angry right now, and it's going to be a long time before a republican gets into a leadership role again.

I can't help but feel that it's just a big game to them. When it comes to the candidates that you named here, they are all just part of a big team and their needs will be served no matter which one of them comes out on top... assuming that they can beat the Dems in the general election.

I think they are shooting themselves in the foot, but for entirely different reasons.

Republicans, unlike the dems, will stick together in the end. They do not eat their own. Like some we know of, thats been chewed on somewhat.
