My boyfriend said he won't get married without a pre-nuptual, he has several uncles that have gotten divorces and they were the money makers and were taken for everything they owned. I see it as he doesn't trust me and doesn't trust that the marriage will work, but he said its not like that at all. Please i need lots of thoughts and opinions.

My first thought is does your boyfriend have too high of an opinion of himself?

But more importantly, I think a beautiful woman like you deserves better.

If you agree with me, then settle for nothing but the best in a man.

Good luck.

If you really love him go with the pre nuptual. It only protects what he had before the marriage, so what's the problem, anything gained together would be split. It has nothing to do with trust, it is a fear issue. Only those who have been through a particularly nasty divorce, can hardly find the words to adequately describe the level of emotions, that a couple who once, deeply loved each other, can invoke, especialy where money/futures are concerned. You are sure of yourself and your love, so where's the confusion. Move on. Be happy.

Stop being emotional and let it go. It's nothing personal and it is nothing wrong to sign a pre-nup nowadays. Everyone is doing it.

It is the same as writing a will before you die. Some people would say that you shouldn't because it's a bad luck but anyone who dealt with the inheritance without a will would tell you that it's a smart decision and no matter how old you are, you should have one just in case. The same thing is with a pre-nup.

A prenuptial agreement is for those persons who are WEALTHY BEFORE MARRIAGE. Prenuptial agreements protect existing assets, and set aside a certain portion (or not) in case of divorce down the road. If your boyfriend is weathy and has assets now while he's single, then a prenuptial agreement would simply protect his preexisting assets.

However, if he doesn't have a pot to p*ss in now, and if you get married, buy a home eventually, both contribute to the home and whatever you mutually acquire, the value of all you and husband own and have earned during the marital years are DIVIDED EQUALLY... there is no, "i get more because i made more money" etc.

Maybe your boyfriend's priorities are material things, not feelings or family.

Poop on that!

You dont have to sign anything that you dont want to.

Get a lawyer and see about drafting one of your own! See how he feels about that one! Sure I'll do a pre up, but its my own lawyer who will create it and see what he says about that.

it doesnt mean anything, its only IF the relationship doesnt work. He just wants to make sure that everything is split evenly. you shoulnt take it personally.
