If your two premises are true, then the logical-conclusion I arrived at is:
*** Nothing lower then self, disproves itself ***
1) I'll politely bow out and let others:
2) Define then what entities are lower then self, and how we can glean the proof of truth, from them.
3) Careful in turning this into an assertion, it is not, it is a nullity or the "abscence of a class" being present; in this case the class absent from reality is: "lower then self" in the context of "disproving itself"
4) Feel free to e-mail for clarification from Enquirer to fellow answerer's, and i'll do my best to give the clarification needed.
5) Great Question by the way!!

.Truth is found in the results that occur.
Regardless of theory, hypothesis, opinions, rationizations, interpretations, or hype; Truth is found after an exhaustive testing both in the laboratory and or in our hearts. And of course in statistical analyses and in our daily experiences.
For example: Diets: We have been told, almost from birth, that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. - Yet, in the laboratory and clinics persons who eat an average breakfast produce less disease fighting enzymes. Why? Their enzymes are being chanelled into becoming digestive enzymes, some times acidic ones and sometimes alkaline ones which cancel each other and make us feel bloated and fatigued.
You can prove it to yourself: Stop eating any breakfast, NOTHING from the time you awake until you have worked 4 or 5 hours. -- do that for 3 days and you may very well discover that just before lunch you will have a lot more energy, ,more than you have ever had before.
sorry for rambling: But in all fairness, truth should be judged by the results, not by specialists and not by our opinions.

"Truth" is an elusive concept. What we may believe to be the truth at one moment in time may prove to be wrong at a later point in time when new information becomes available. I don't believe that anyone has "the truth." However, I do believe we must search for truth and we must function as if there are manifest facts and truths. Some of those who answered your question believe that their religion has the truth and others don't. Each of us must do our best to behave honorably and do what is right. We must avoid falsehoods which are much easier to prove than truths. What resonates in each individual in their heart and mind will vary but each of us must follow our own path and seek the truth. So your truth may not be the same as mine but we can agree that there is a truth and we can continue to seek it without judging those who have a different understanding. So the answer is really in your question that we must recognize truth in our hearts and seek it with our minds and that is the best we can do and the only place we can find it.

1- IF the mind finds truth for itself, it does so, primarily, by assimilating information from an external source (ie the world 'around' us, with which we interact). The heart does a similar job but this is an internal function ; it finds 'its' truths, primarily, by assimilating information from an internal source (our feelings and emotions).
2- The mind can also interact internally (by processing our thoughts) and it can interact with our heart (or feelings and emotions indirectly (on a subconscious level)). This gives us the two truths that you spoke of.
3- As our reality is a combination of our internal and external worlds combined, so to is the truth. THE truth therefore, in my opinion is not a 'location' but the culmination of both truths from out thoughts and our heart. A complete entity, specific to each individual; only one part of the truth is generic for everybody, the rest is custom made by us, for us because of the interaction of our 'heart' (or whatever you really meant by heart) ;)

The way you are asking tells that you are looking for truth 'somewhere' and you want to know 'where' this might be. It also tells that you have a concept of what truth is.
Now, let's see who is asking: Obviously a human being who is in a certain state of personal evolution. This means that the perception and possibility of understanding is limited. Why limited? Because humans are conceptual beings and they are identified with their concepts, these they see as 'truth', mainly because this forms their personality and out of this they are getting their feeling of existence. The result is that they are defending their established truth and are not open for something different, unless this feels better, maybe because it fits better to the other established concepts. So in this state 'truth' is totally subjective and can be changed in any moment if the old and worn out truth has collapsed for some reason. The personality 'owns' truth and is trying to live this conglomerate out of self-image, beliefs, wishes, dreams, needs and all those concepts formed and build up during lifetime. This collection of 'truth' gives security and more or less sense to the personality, but is constantly challenged being confronted by daily life happenings. The individual is trying to live ones 'truth', but the daily reality makes this difficult if not in certain situations impossible. That creates disappointment, frustration and a lot of stress. Why? Because the discrepancy between ones imaginary dream world created by ones gathered truth and daily reality doesn't want to be seen by the individuals. They don't want to accept this fact; they don't even want to look at it. So they will repeat again and again similar situations, where they fall on their nose or on their bottom, until they look at themselves, realizing that there is a truth that is different than theirs and then maybe realizing their limitation and then maybe start to ask questions, critical questions. Not to confirm their established truth, but finding out about a truth that might be 'higher'. That will cause that they go beyond their personality. Then connecting with a truth that is not limited to personality and subjective perception...
This is possible although very few humans are ready for it, mostly staying in their zombie state, caught by the truth they are holding tied.
Is there a way out of it, with the possibility to find real truth? Yes, there is. It is a long way, it is the growing process that includes us all... The key is 'self knowledge' starting to observe, learning about human nature and being aware how this works within one self. Observing ones reactions, becoming aware what triggers these...
To create a basic condition to make it possible that one can get out of ones personal cage, I can strongly suggest to meditate regularly or do a simple exercise that I call 'StressReleaseExercise'. All the information how to do it and to start right away, you can find at: http://falconblanco.com/release
This exercise is simple and very effective; although it is better not to expect spectacular results. If there is showing up a difficulty, caused by your individual condition, then you can ask me for help, that will be freely given...

PS: To ask: "Where is truth?" is difficult to answer. It is similar as if you would ask: "Where is life?" Of course it is everywhere and we can see it and relate to it when it has form like the truth when it's expressed in words, but being interpreted by the individual's mind it becomes a concept and then this is the worst, it will hinder the direct perception.

We are born spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical... we are meant to use these as one... how could the mind find truth for itself... when it's truth is limited to the person it belongs to, a mind cannot exist without it's flesh... the heart finding a truth higher than itself... the heart, the spirit, our emotions are directly tied into the actions and experiences of it's flesh... our physical bodies is the truth of the mind, for the mind seeks to solve the problems brought to the flesh.. and there is no higher truth than the flesh of the heart... We are human , each one given his or her own body, mind, heart to experience life as it comes... there is no higher truth than that.

"...and the heart finds truth higher than itself... "
The heart finds nothing. Rather it only "feels" whatever truth that is conceived based upon the discoveries of the mind (or lack thereof in some cases). Thus, the "truth" is all around us. How we interpret that "truth" is up to the individual perceiver.

truth is in the mind, in the heart, and everywhere. I suppose it's upto us to open our eyes and try to comprehend what that is. And even if everyone's truth differs, your truth lies behind your beliefs. If you believe its true, then thats your truth.
Truth is an illusion because it something that cannot be defined, touched, tasted, heard, seen, smelled...but its still there. I think truth is a presence and that is my truth because it believe its true.

http://www.heartmath.org
"The Biology of Transcendence," J. C. Pearce, also notes what the HeartMath researchers have fairly proven: the electro-magnetic field of the "brain" and of the "heart" vary by a factor of ~ 1000. The heart is more flexible, stronger, and aware of more than the reduced sensory data stream available to outer waking consciousness.
"Truth" is thus One Mind Soul-realization and -individuation, a wholeness or Oneness of mind, love, and other aspects.
"Mentation" is shown e.g. by Goedel's Incompleteness Theorem to be based on logically impossible axiomatic framings. This is the weakness of "mentation," and it is shown in the HeartMath research.
So it is a false assumption by mentation to believe it has found "truth." A closer, more profound examination shows that to be logically impossible.
A particular Way out of this dilemma is to "let this Mind abide with you, which was also with Christ Jesus." This is Plotinus' One Mind Soul-realization, Husserl's Pure Ego. Such Oneness implicity includes both Love, which is the dynamic, joyful harmony of All that really Is, and consciousness, which is Oneness' (God's) awareness of Self.
Truth is All that Is, and neither human mentation nor human affection are sufficiently that.
You might enjoy "Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark Prophet, and "A Philosophy of Universality," as both deal with this general notion.
