It really seems like it. lol When I have to be quiet while in pain, it seems worse and to last longer. In reality, probably no difference at all. lol

Nope...its prolly the same...its just a reaction we feel is necessary to do for some reason...Especially when u see it coming...But i think that it hurts a lot less when u dont focus on the pain...or the severity of whats causing the pain. Most ppl freak out from the sight of blood and make things worst. But when ppl dont know whats going on they tend to take it better.

I had surgery on my right shoulder. I WAS AWAKE. Not the type that they knock you out. I was awake, fully. They appologized to me, saying, "Whoops, we misfigured the anathestic." It wasn't near enough. They were cutting deep. I always wondered what that would feel like. That day, I learned first hand. Typically, I curse ALOT. At that time, I didn't. I was screaming in my head, as loud as I could. Can you believe, I didn't want to offend the people working on me?? I told them I wasn't mad at them for the error. When you think it hurts, it can get way better than that. I now know. I don't recommend it. Next time, I'll let it rip. They'll have to get over it. I can get REAL creative. Dennis B.

I think yes, as long as your mind is somewhere else as well...What I mean is,...For some, maybe. For me, I can in a sense, turn it off, if I tune out. Its mind over matter..

yellin to me takes ur mind off the pain!!!!!!! if your not yellin your puttin your full concentrating on ur pain and thats it!!!! yelln helps to me!!!!
