Your opinion is much more valued if you study/studied/read poems a lot so "brag" in sources part.

I think I would have to say Christina Rossetti, Robert Frost, Edgar Allen Poe, and Shakespeare are some of the very finest poets I have read.

Other than here on "Answers", I really don't read much modern poetry.

I'm a full professor of English. My notion of the best poet keeps changing. Currently, Irish poet Eavann (sp?) Boland is my favorite author. Of more traditional poets, I love Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
