No I don't think you are too young, but you may need some training of some sort.
Have you thought of checking out Internet Marketing, there are a lot of young people like you making very good money in this area.
There is a great resource for learning IM that many refer to as an online university for Marketing. Check out my link below, it maybe the kind of business you are looking for. Once you learn the basics it can be a fantastic business and the rewards are outstanding.

You aren't necessarily too young. But whether you are 15 or 50, you have to get the ideas first and figure out and write down what you want your business to be, and what all will be needed to start and run it and where you'll get the money, before you actually start the business.

Read Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad, Poor Dad. ... not to follow his route - but just to understand some of the concepts.
You are absolutely correct in wanting to start your own business.....2 things:

1) Learn, Do and then Teach
2) Let no one steal your Dream.
