Prepare yourself to live without decency, morality, or any devotion to justice whatsoever.

Take courses in foreign affairs, history and or foreign languages at a prestigious university and get straight A-s. Then THEY approach you.

Otherwise, take civil service exams and apply for a job, like with any other government job.

Excuse me, I need to go drink poison. I can't believe I just advised someone on how to join the secret police.

www.cia.gov, check it out.

College degree, 4 years - Mandatory
Second language - strongly suggested, not mandatory
Military Experience, suggested, not mandatory
International Travel, suggested, not mandatory
Special skill - polygraphers are currently in HIGH demand

I also recommend a solid knowledge of international politics. You will not survive the first interview without knowing the major international "current events."

You would be best served with reading "The Economist" to include every article, taking notes and doing research on every international figure mentioned in the articles. If you can ramble on (correctly) about 12 current leaders, to include their agendas, strengths and weaknesses..... you might just get a second interview.

True tale, k? It used to be getting almost commencement and the legitimate fraternity to which I belonged used to be webhosting recruiters from quite a lot of businesses and executive entities. (The University I attended used to be the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Texas. The primary campus of the University of Texas procedure is in Austin, Texas. We are referred to as UTA and they're referred to as UT.) One of the entities invited used to be, you guessed it, the CIA. We corresponded at duration, had mobile conversations, despatched them the deal with of the tuition, the constructing and room quantity, mobile numbers and a map. The recruiters went to the WRONG tuition. Yeah, the Central INTELLIGENCE Agency of the entire complete United States, the institution entrusted with our safeguard and protection, with understanding what's going on in international nations and whether or not someone on this planet is making an attempt to damage U.S. residents went to the WRONG tuition after 3 months of correspondence and instructional materials. Is it any surprise approximately nine/eleven? Oh, yeah...I rather appreciated your comic story.

You apply just like you would for any other job. Their website has an online section for applicants. (Link below)

They even run recruiting ads in college magazines and the like.

Of course, if you can't figure that out yourself, you won't make much of a spy.
