Was the intake made for the Maxima specifically, or was it fabricated?
It might be the mass air flow sensor... You can mess up many things with an engine as tempermental of an engine as the VQ35DE, if you aren't surgically precise.

Go through the complete installation, this time following directions.

go to auto zone and have them read the code and turn off the light
