You should have as much sympathy for the rich as the rich have for the poor. I'm not so sure the gap between poor and rich is widening, I don't know where you get that idea.

I fail to see the benefit of the poor looking upon the rich with scorn. I'm inclined to think they're just jealous. At any rate, it's a waste of time: you can't buy happiness. Most of the things that matter in life are priceless too.

ZERO_ They have healthcare, they don' worry about bankruptcy if they are seriously ill, the price of gasoline has no effect on their life, they can pay their home heating bills on their 5000 sq. foot homes, they pay for their Lexus in cash, they got HUGE tax cuts from Dubya, the price of milk and other groceries is not even a blip on their financial screens, their kids attend the best schools, their kids college is already paid for, they have connections and access that provide many benefits from the government, they can afford the best lawyers who can attain virtually any desired outcome, if they have a serious accident at work or in their car they will be taken care of and a person of lesser means faces far greater obstacles.
And the list goes on............................ Bottom line lower class and what's left of the middle class struggle far more in their daily lives than rich people can even imagine and have NO excess sympathy for the rich. The difference in quality of life of between rich and poor is a vast divide that is growing ever wider by the year. Thanks, BUSH " MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" !!!
