To me if more did it would serve 2 purposes.

1. It would cut down on the number of players getting poked in the eyes, there are not that many but I do hear of it happening.

2. In my opinion it would cut down big time on the amount of face mask penalities.

They don't wear the clear guards on the facemasks for 1 simple reason: it isn't mandatory. If they had to wear them, I'm sure all of them would comply with the rule.

When players work out and start overheating their own breath fogs up the plastic guard,it then becomes a hindrance rather than a liability

They want the meanest in their eyes to be clearly seen. Stadium lighting causes glare.

Face mask violations are a plus if its being done to you. 15 yards penalty is better than 2 yards of running.

because they don't wear them in pop Warner and high school.the reason i say this is because they are not used to wearing them.the pros grew up not wearing them . it would take some adjustment to wear visors for most players.how about the glare from the sun,,how about the visor fogging up at the wrong time, what ever happens if god forbid, one shatters?

i like your points....but it would have to be made mandatory before everyone starts wearing them.

It's actually against the rules unless you get a special clearance from the league. LT still uses one I think.
