I feel like you. It is hard to get in the Christmas spirit this year. Seeing my family come here from up north usually does it for me. Christmas just ain't really been a "special" day. I mean you really dont' do that much that's different you know. You can buy gifts and get gifts from anybody any day of the year. I hardly get what I want anyway and it don't even last the whole day. I always remember the birth of Christ though. Just think about seeign some family emembers you haven't seen in a while or something of that nature. The music should also work. Keep trying that.

Well it looks like I'm the only one in the spirit! I spent two great days with my family just laughing and being together. We have patches of snow still left on the ground, not enough for it to look great, but enough to remind you its winter. The fire place is lit and for once the whole family is together, I'd say it feels pretty nice. Its not even that there are little kids running around, I'm the youngest at 16, it just feels like that really nice, content, time of year. So I'll spread some cheer, Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Hey, what's up with everybody being so negative? Christmas will feel like Christmas if you make an effort to celebrate it properly.
I live in Japan, far from my family, and was worried about being alone this Christmas, but I decided to make an effort to make it special in any case, and it was! Here's what I did:
I watched a ballet: Joseph and Mary, on Sunday, went to a candle light service on Christmas Eve, and last night had a party with friends. Christmas should be shared and celebrated!

This has been a "down" Christmas for me. This is my first Christmas without my middle daughter. She is spending Christmas with her in-laws. My youngest daughter and I are trying to make the best of it. I hope I can feel the spirit next Christmas. I do not have it now.

Not for me either. It has been a rough year and I am looking forward to a new year. Also, where I live it is warmer than usual (not that I am complaining), but I guess it just takes away from the whole "Christmas" thing. I have always believed that Christmas is for children. I used to absolutely love it and not be able to wait for it to come. Now I kind of just tolerate it.

The older I get the more I feel that way. Every year it's just a little different and not like it was when I was a kid, but I would imagine that is how christmas works for everyone.

ya it definetly doesn't feel like christmas this year. we don't even ahve a tree or lights cause my familys going away. this is the first year i wasn't the first one awake and waking everybody else up, i'm not even all that excited to go to california. it might just be me, but this year wasn't very exciting at all. i think it's the fact that stores didn't advertise things very christmasy- you had to go to the back of the store to find christmas decorations ect. of course there are those people that go all out for christmas and my family has never been one of them, but this christmas was shitty. hopefully new years will make up for it woo!
