Ok, so I've known this girl for a couple of years. The problem is, she the best friend-almost like a sister-of an ex of mine. The ex and I haven't been together for almost 8 years. I asked what my ex thought and she is strongly against it. Should I leave the idea of dating this other girl alone or pursue it??

It would probably be best to listen to your ex and not persue such a relationship if you do respect her.

If it didn't work out between you and your ex it must have been because the feellings that should be felt in a relationship weren't there or just weren't strong enough...So there is no need for her to get jealous or object...It is your life and the other woman...At the same time if you value your ex's friendship and don't want to lose what the two of you have or put a strain on it...you should step down...There are 6Billion people in the world...And probably 1million that suit your needs =]...When it all comes down to it...seems like you and your ex need to have a talk and figure out where the objection is coming from...There must be an underlining problem other than you getting with her....Maybe she doesn't want to seem like the third wheel, or have in common that her and her "sister" were physical with the same man?

Ya know, TB. I get very confused about the the newly found relatives such as "sister of an ex" or "best friend almost". After 8 years, do you really take the advice of an "ex" that seriously? People grow up alot in 8 years. Just date her and let the chips fall.

well, see what the girl who likes u thinks!
if she likes u, like if shes soooo close with her friend hu wud strongly be against u guys dating and it "gets out" that she likes u then put two and two together here. r they even that close that she'd tell someone else that she liked u before she told her bff hu is ur ex? have the girl talk to ur ex about this
it'll sort itself out.
like let the girls ***** and complain over u.
something good will come out of it. either a - ur ex will give her the thumbs up. or b - ur ex will give her the thumbs down and they will break up but she cud still date u. or c - the ex will not like that and the friend will become uninterested in u because of the feelings of the ex.
mind u, would u really want to date someone who's super suuuper tight with ur EX-GIRLFRIEND?
think about ur options but have the girls sort it out and have them tell u their final answer without u having to pursue anything. :)
good luck

sounds like a recipe for some messiness if you pursue it...its not right of your ex to interfere..you guys arnt together anymore ...i hate it when ppl try to get in the way of what you really want..i mean its your life isnt it?...and the girl who likes you its what she wants too right?...i would pursue it...if it makes some ppl unhappy it really is there own problem...its not fair of them in the first place to try and get in the way of your happiness

You should discuss it with the girl that likes you not your ex. She has nothing to do with it as far as you are concerned. If the girl that you are interested in doesn't care then you shouldn't either.

well if you're really into this girl but you dont want to hurt ur ex' feelings then sit them both down and work it out, but if you decide that o well yall arent together anymore then go ahead and do what u want...but there will be consiquences!!

sounds like persuing it would just cause trouble, but thats just my opinion. everything might be fine but there's no way of telling. I'm the kind of person who would just go for it though, or forever wonder what would have happened.
