I got a baby outfit that I bid on sent to me in the mail.
When I received it, one pant leg was literally an inch and a half longer than the other side...
I wrote her a message that stated the following: There is one small problem, and its that one pant leg is longer than the other, by maybe about an inch to an inch and a half. We noticed it when I went to fold it to put it away.
I don't see the point in returning it because of what I paid for it, and knowing that I'd have to pay for shipping back to you.
I just thought I'd let you know.
Thanks.

THEN I left the following Feedback about 3 mins later...
It was Neutral Feedback and I said the following:
Defective-one leg is longer than the other. A little dissapointed :o/

Then she went off!!!

1st email:
I have never tried it on my son so i didn't know that one leg was bigger than the other! I'll give you a refund for what you won it for! I really am truly sorry, and i don't want this mistake to inconvenience you! Let me know, and you have a Merry Merry Christmas!
2nd email
OH My Goodness... I just offered you a refund for what you paid, why would you leave such a harsh feedback like that??? The item was brand new, the one my son has fits him perfectly! I never realized how hateful buyers on Ebay can be, i only tried to make a few extra dollars b/c i am a struggling nursing student with two kids and i didn't have any extra money to buy something nice for each of my kids! Couldn't you have waited to see what i could have done to help you with this situation? I have to say that you have really ruined my Christmas spirit! I am not a big eBay seller as you can see from my score i only just started selling, anyways i am sure that nothing i have said matters to you...

My Question is, Was I to mean? How should I respond to her?
Should I say she is being a bit dramatic?

What would have happened if I left Negative feedback? Would she have got and killed herself? My gosh!!! Some people

PS-I sent my email to her and left the neutral feedback before she responded to my message.
She wrote the first email like 2 mins before she wrote the second one.
Sorry just wanted to clarify

Confusion or misunderstanding her having a bad day who knows, your story just proves that its important to see the sellers feedback score that she mentioned to see what kind of person you are about to do business with..You could have left a negative feed back for her,she should be at least a little happy you made it a neutral feedback..Despite what some others post here the feed back score is about the entire event including the item, was it what you wanted ,the condition etc,etc,etc..........

First of all, the feedback one leaves should not be given until the final dispostion of the transaction and the product has been used and is found to be satisfactory. Then, if it is as it was advertised, and you are happy with it, then is when you give a feedback.

In this particular case, communication was still ongoing and a final disposition had not been made when you gave a feedback.

There must not have been a huge amount of money involved, but the seller offered to refund your money, which is to most people is fulfilling the contract. This fact alone would warrant a satisfactory feedback with a notation of the circumstances and the final resolution of the transaction.

I've had them where communication was next to impossible and it awakened me to that side of Ebay that is pretty eyeopening, to say the least.

I did think she over reacted but then I just re-read your question and I'd agree with the person above me, if she already offered to give you a refund you should have left positive feedback. The feedback is about the seller, not the item. Unless someone is being deliberately dishonest. Because now if someone looks at her feedback score, it looks like she was trying to rip you off when it was obviously just an oversight. I'd send her an e-mail saying you didn't mean to offend and have a merry christmas...

I think she went overboard -- maybe she's stressed about Christmas or something. But when you leave feedback on eBay it is supposed to be about the *person* not the item. You said in your email that it wasn't worth returning the item and you let her know about the problem personally, so there was no need for you to leave neutral feedback for her. My feeling is that she handled things nicely in her first email and you should have left positive feedback saying something like, "Fast shipping, good communication." How the seller treated you has nothing to do with the item and you shouldn't have given her anything other than positive feedback.

i think you both took it way too far! its ebay lady, it aint unisef, maybe someday unisef will get in the business. you get what you pay for on ebay, why cant people understand that? you are in part at fault too. you didnt consider her lower score and you bid for her item anyway. so you won it and now you are unhappy. it does not sound like she is stupid, it just sounds like she tried to offer you a reasonable solution and you jumped the gun and left her nuetral feedback. part of leaving feedback for someone on ebay is allowing them them the chance to make right any unsatisfactory transactions. this is a key element to the ebay community and you are messing with peoples reputations by posting what you did for her feedback. you should have allowed her to refund your money and return the item. then you could post nuetral with something nice to say like, " item defective, seller made prompt effort to refund" or you could leave positive and say great customer service and leave out the other stuff. next time you shop on ebay i suggest you look at seller feedback scores and keep in mind you are shopping through private parties, it is not a chain store and the standards are lower in many cases.

lol! what did she say? let us know. She is stupid, why shouldnt you post that it was a defective item? Your the consumer, if it was in a shop, they would have to by law, refund your $

edit: Thats funny. How could she have not noticed the legs were different sizes? did she just throw it in a package to send to you, rather than fold it? Now dont go and ruin my christmas spirit lol

oh, oh.....no one is stupid. it just shows how different people would interprete thesame message.i think she is stressed out you know, with christmas season, gifts for her kids and being a mother.....unfortunately she got a hold of you to flush all that out on...sorry my dear!
she just expected she was trying to be nice by sendng you a refund and you took it for granted by leaving a feedback that could be viewed as negative ( some interpretions, someone above said it was neutral but another person might see it as negative).

I had some women harass me because the postage was 5 cents less than what she paid for it. She wanted her 5 cents back and I told her it would cost me that just to transfer the money ... *rolls eyes* people are just stupid and crabby this time of the year

E-mail 1 and E-mail 2. . . Are those the E-mails that she sent to you ?

It seems to me that she has contradicted herself.

It is Christmas Day, so there is the possibility that she could be drunk, or on the other hand, she could be stark raving mad !

Although, your question was confusing, so perhaps it was me getting the wrong end of the stick. . .
