Nortons is the very worse garbage in the entire world of antvirus software. Hugh resource hog, and if you go to remove you are left with over 375 fragments glued to your registry, files/folders and subsystem. You will play total hell trying to remove.
Take a look at what I used for the past ten years and the Govt. Of China uses. Pay only a one time fee for life of $29.99 and you get auto. updates X 2 or X3 per day and all new versions for life. http://www.filseclab.com Twister Trojan Antivirus.

Norton is probly the world leader..
This may be more of a curse than a blessing though, as many virus writers use it as a gold standard to bypass.
I've got NIS 2007 (nice and light - efficient even) on XP and Kaspersky on Vista.
Kaspersky would get my vote but it is a wee bit more demanding in terms of user input than NIS...

No, the only good product from Symantec isNorton 360. AFter using it for a while, it'll start draining your RAM. I'd recommend McAfee and Kaspersky - they both tied in tests by reviewers and me.
