Anthony Hopkins is very good in a psychological way. He is creepy. He plays excellent villians in Silence of the Lambs and Fracture. However, I would have to say that the overall best bad guy is Alan Rickman. He is excellent. He has the dark and sinister voice! He did wonderful as Rasputin in Rasputin, as Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Hans Gruber in Die Hard, and he is an excellent Snape in Harry Potter! He is good and being evil! So he gets my vote!

Haven't seen it yet, but the bad guy in "No Country for Old Men" is supposed to be great -- Javier Bardem. Siskel and Ebert and Roper always say that a great action movie needs a great villain.

Alan Rickman was fantastic in Die Hard. James Earl Jones was amazing as the voice of Darth Vader too

there are so many good actors but Alan Rickman plays a wonderful baddie, in films such as Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and the Harry Potter films, he steals every scene he is in, same goes for when he was the baddie in Die Hard
