Intel of course.
Its about performance.
Intel just wins- gaming, applications, chip design.

(yes, intel is much better than amd for gaming now. Those who think otherwise are stuck in 2005)

Intel. Althou AMD does offer a lot of bang for the buck I'm a gamer. Both my Vista and XP gaming rigs run Intel Extreme cpus, a dual Extreme clocked at 3.2 in the Vista rig and a P4 Extreme clocked at 3.85 in my XP machine. If AMD ever comes out with a cpu that will out perform an Intel Extreme then that's what I'll run but so far, they're not even close. I use Intels in all my builds but, to each his own. AMD makes nice cpus but I'd rather spend a little more and get performance. This "AMDs are better for gaming" is total BS. Look at how the 3GHz Intel Core 2 duo destroys the 3Ghz AMD dual in an actual gaming benchmark and even dusts the brand new AMD Phenoms that were supposed to be so bad.

The 9700 Phenom quad makes a nice showing but the Intel Q6600, also a 2.4 and about the same price, beats it and the new Intel 45nm quads scheduled to come out January 20 will be even faster.

I initially went with intel through clock speeds of the P4 and P4 based Celerons, that and my college district grew to become into working the two Pentium IIIs and Pentium 4s in all of their platforms, and my mom extensively utilized intel based computers whilst she labored as a nutrition provider contractor at IBM, yet AMD makes stable processors regardless, the Athlon 64s have been a extensive hit in the process the time between the midsection of the P4 line and the final of the Pentium Ds, and had constantly theory AMD grew to become into no longer so good as intel (intel brainwashed me!) yet as i've got been given greater matured interior the laptop worldwide, AMD started out to no longer seem so undesirable, so im now questioning of making a AMD based homestead pc the three words that come to my thoughts approximately intel: *Pentium *Celeron *Intel interior Now approximately AMD: *Athlon *Sempron *Hypertransport

Some people with no PC component experience tend to say Intel, due to the fact AMD never advertises, and never gets seen. I prefer AMD, due to the fact it has excellent value. This is due to the fact, that AMD is losing a lot these past quarters. Of course, the AMD being better @ gaming is a total myth.
It has very little truth in it.

Intel is faster than AMD and has more cache. It is great for gaming. Also AMD gets hot. Intel processors are cooler and have more advanced technology.
