in "A Christmas Story" the neighbors were the Bumpass. There is another movie that focuses on that family, the Bumpas. I've seen it once.

...that was "It Runs in the Family", from 1994; along with actually seeing the hillbilly Bumpus family, this time, the film (...overall, pretty much recast) also depicts the SUMMER adventures of Ralphie, involving the quest for the best and toughest spinning toy top...presumably part of the summer's events, after the events in "A Christmas Story"...
...my favorite part in the film, a hilarious, gut-busting episode in the town's movie theater, involving Ralphie's mom, and a barrage of ill-gotten gravy boats...

There is a movie billed as a sequel to "The Christmas Story" It's called "My Summer Story" 1994 I believe.
