She is 54. Both of her boys are grown up and married. She says she wants to keep the name because of her kids. She is not a professional so that reason is null.

foolish! Why would she want to marry you and keep her previous husband's last name. I could understand her keeping her maiden name, but not her ex-husband's name.

That is an excuse especially since they are grown and gone. I would think about what you are doing. There is some other reason that she is holding out.

No, it's not. She is connected to her children. Why does it bother you so much? My husbands EX kept his last name. I've never given it any thought until I read this question. Move on.

I really know where she is coming from.. Its important to her to keep that name becausse of her children, you should respect her feelings on this, because i'm sure its hard on her.. it has nothing to do with her x.....
