(1/3)e^(x+1)= 0.5, Is this what you want?

Multiply both sides by 3,
e^(x+1) = 1.5

Take ln,
x+1 = ln1.5

Solve for x,
x = ln1.5 - 1

1/3e^(x+1) = 0.5

3e^(x+1) = 1/0.5 = 2

e^(x+1) = 2/3

taking logs

x + 1 = ln(2/3)

x = ln(2/3) - 1

x = -1.4

⅓ · e^(x+1) = 0.5
e^(x+1) = 0.5 · 3 = 1.5
ln [ e^(x+1) ] = ln (1.5)
(x+1) = ln (1.5)
x = ln (1.5) − 1
