If you know what I mean, I feel your pain. Is there a time of the day that has a different level of intellectual?

According to princeton.edu, an intellectual is a person who uses his or her intellect to work, study, reflect, speculate on, or ask and answer questions with regard to a variety of different ideas.

Therefore, I dare to say we are all intellectuals on Yahoo Answers.

Some of us Yahoo intellectuals know how to spell (or use spell checker) and use grammar correctly, while others, including you, do not.

I've heard that as a complaint on other blogs. Some people were not and still not being taught phonetics, including a strong foundation in grammar in schools. Currently, the schools emphasis is the computer and they also fore go the arts, humanities, and etc. In addition, we have text messaging, English as a second language, and lawlessness in not using spell check in play. I might add whoever came up the "Political Correct" wording should go bury his head in the sand. Nothing irks me in the English as that does. Okay, now I feel better.

In today's society, I have noticed that many people seem to use writing on Yahoo Answers as a casual means of communication. It's like casual Friday's at work. Worker's dress and act one way Mon-Thursday and a completely different way on Friday. What a shame because many young kids do not know the difference. To me I would never be caught dead in jeans in a restaurant but many others have no problem doing so. Maybe the pendulum will swing back our way.

Look in the mirror and say POT, KETTLE, BLACK. Your grammar isn't up to par, either.

Your last word should have been "intellect", not intellectual and instead of "that uses" you should use "which uses"

To answer your question, the reason behind such poor grammar and spelling is pure laziness. Too many kids are more interested in games and fun while parents no longer apply priorities of learning for their children. The US is raising a weak generation who believe that getting through life should be easy. The sad part is, they are winning, yet, becoming more stupid by the minute.

I know, they spend 20 seconds to write a question that will take at least a couple of minutes to respond to, and half the time it's difficult to even figure out what they were asking. It's laziness and disrespect. There's a reason they're called the "entitlement generation".

You should say "different level of INTELLECT" not intellectual.
The difference - meaning:
INTELLECT - the ability to think logically and understand things.
LOGICAL - using a sound reasoning ( reasoning ability. )
INTELLECTUAL - having a highly developed intelect or having a little more reasoning ability.

Sorry to hear about your PAIN - Sympathy.

it would appear that a lot of the people posting questions are pretty lazy - most q's could be answered easily with a 'google' search - so what else would you expect? p.s. it's grammar

Your question has its own sort of poignancy, misspelling "grammAr" as you've done.
