On Christmas Day, Jews are supposed to do good deeds, just like any other day.
In our town, the two synagogues send volunteers to the Catholic Hospital and the soup kitchen to help out, so our Christian neighbors can be at home with their families. We call it the "Christmas Mitzvah".
To correct an apparent misunderstanding, Jesus is *not* important in the Jewish religion--Jesus is never mentioned and has no meaning. Jews don't celebrate his "birthday". Any Jew who "believes in Jesus" is, by definition, not a Jew. Some American Jews may participate in the more secular aspects of the modern Christmas season simply because their friends, and maybe some family, are doing so.

Chanukah is over people (Dec. 5-12th)... and some people refer Christmas as a "Pagan holiday" also (go figure...) and many atheist, jews, hindus (my cousins' dad's fam does at least..), and many more religions celebrate Christmas as a "gift-giving holiday" and not as Christ's birthday... but anyway, some Jews celebrate it, and some treat it as a regular day. But in the Jewish religion, Christ's birth is very important as it is in the Christian religion so there are some Jews that celebrate it almost with the same values as Christians.
