Why die or live forever?

2007-12-25 09:08:15 · update #1

I would choose to live forever, even though it's a bit selfish of me, NOT due to religious reasons, but because of the people. The cycle is life and death, not just life. I enjoy information of all sorts, so I would live to spread knowledge, and gather as much as possible.

Since I believe in reincarnation, why would I limit my experiences to just this life? I can try various bodies, ethnicities, etc. If I lived forever, I'd be stuck in this vehicle and probably become very bored.

As you pose a philosophical question,
I suppose I would choose a good way in accordance with my situation at that moment.

What if you know you still have to do a lot of good things on Earth, that your journey-life isn't at its own purposed end? Won't you negotiate for a time extension?

Otherwise, if you are satisfied with the results of your life on all the levels, and you know that you did anything humanly possible, wherever was the case, for the best results of your good actions, WHY NOT take it lose? Why should you live forever? Why won't you be curious about the NEXT IMPORTANT STEP of your further existence? Aren't you interested to exceed these limits?

Right now, I would choose to die eventually. Theres no fun in living forever, because everything that you do while your alive you can treasure since you may not be able to do it again when you're older.

Since I believe that my soul is already immortal, I look at death as another adventure. Not that I'm eager to throw myself under a bus. The process of dying has no appeal After all, as the comedian George Carlin has pointed out "Being dead is great, but getting dead..... Nobody wants to get dead!"

The mind is a very versatile tool. Just as a claw hammer can extract nails as well as put them into walls, so an imagination can be used to see through deception - as well as to create it. Usually, though, we know what we are doing with a hammer. But occasionally, we assume one process is taking place inside our head only to realise, belatedly, that it was actually another. There is some doubt about what you are seeing and thinking. Companions are surprised by some of the conclusions you appear to be reaching. Are they right - or are you? It's a bit of both - but you are not as wrong as you fear. You can reach for bigger and better things now
