There are many one-hit wonder songs out there, the single song that is the sole defining moment of a group, i.e. the only song that anyone remembers by that group.

The Verve - they did umm Bittersweet Symphony as their one hit but thats not what I liked them for my wedding song was Sonnet ... But they are a one hit wonder.... Who knew that song lasted like 10 minutes must have been the longest first dance ever!!! I wanted Desert Rose by Sting but the DJ and my hubby over ruled me

Sugar Sugar by the Archies. Released in 1969. I believe it went to number one on the charts. The Archies were not even a real group. The record was sung by the cast of the TV show. That is why they could never go on tour. The song by Zager and Evans, "In the Year 2525 went to number one as well in 1969. It was their only hit.

OH - I can answer this. I have a lot of one-hit wonders that I like, but first on my list is: Funkytown by Lipps. I was never fond of disco, but even I remember that song & yes....I'll even dance to it. LOL.

i really like aha's song "take on me" from the '80s. great tune.
i also like eagle eye cherry's song "save tonight" from the late '90s. good stuff.
