Reason why I ask, is that I haven't received a gift that I truly wanted in some time.

Didn't get any, so no cause for disappointment - out of choice of course! Far cheaper and far kinder to relations who don't even know you, let alone what you would like for Christmas - buy it yourself I say!

I know exactly how you feel. My 18 year old son spent about £150 on his girlfriend (some of which was funded by me) and about a tenner on my present. I was hurt to say the least.
However this has made me think how much better it would be if we only gave small presents or none at all then give money to charity - this is actually what a friend and me have done this year and I'm going to try and make it more widespread next year.
Some answers have said Christmas is not about presents. I agree but then again in 2008 what is Christmas about?
Do other religions have special days when they give gifts to loved ones or is it just Christians?

Oh well im really sorry for that. I'm not disapointed with my gifts. My family doesn't really celebrate Christmas cause it isn't in our religion to celebrate it. But now that im older when my dad and i go to Wal-Mart he usually gets me what i want so i can pick and choose. At the moment my mom and sister is in London and they got me many presents and from what i saw on the webcam today i love it. And that wasn't all the presents. Lol Well Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
Here's a star just because you don't seem to happy and this is the best i can do to make you feel better. Probably wont help but it's the least i can do.

I was. It just seems I get crap and my sisters get really cool stuff. Then I feel bad 'cause that's not what Christmas is for. But it is disappointing to see my sisters spend more money on each other than they do me. Especially when neither one of them are any better off than me financelly. It's like they want me to feel excluded... Oh, well. It only comes one time a year, right.

I hear you neither have I.... I mean I know it's not about the gifts but I mean sometimes it would be better if people always gave gift cards... because clothes end up never fitting or people don't like them and yeah... but happy hoildays! Maybe we will both have better luck next year! =]

It's almost 2:00pm and I haven't opened my gifts yet because my family will crowd around me when I do and I don't know how to react when I know I'm going to get something I don't want.
I know just how you feel.

My parents bought me a FAB new Nokia 5300, so I'm happy with that.

I'm a bit of an emo, and addicted to Punky Fish clothing, so my aunt said she'd buy me some. Really excited, I opened the bag, and got my mum to help me try on the clothes... but OH NO. None of them fitted. And now, I feel really bad, telling her they are too small!

:P

I loved every gift that I received.I am thrilled that someone would think of me enough to get me something regardless of what it is and I didn't get expect anyone to buy me anything ,but I appreciate everything:)

I used to have that problem. You need to tell the people that give you gifts to give you gift cards.
