My nintendo DS lite is charged but the screen stays black although the green power light is on. What to do?

It is brand new, and altough it was fully charged the screen will not turn on.

its a defective DS and you have to return it i feel so sorry 4 u....

i'm not making a joke but it is scewed. take it the gamestop or summin and maybe they'll fix it

turn it on. open it. it might be messed up. take it back.
