Good Q. Star for you :)
Well, #1 has to be me for judging me so harshly this week, and even last night as I was part of the worship service at church. I just could only find something wrong with my hair, my clothes, what I said and did. It was very hard to accept compliments.
I also can't forgive anyone else if I'm dumping on myself.
Thanks for the Q. Most appropriate.
By the way - I don't do resolutions I make New Year Plans, for the first three months, then the half year and then the rest of the year. So it is a good plan to clean my 'mental' house ahead of that.
Thanks again.

You are so right!!
I have forgiven after many years. The most amazing feeling is that acceptance. When you think of the event and it has no effect anymore, I didn't believe it was possible before I had guidance. Now the forgiveness is instant, asking for forgiveness is as well.
I still have to achieve the wisdom to forgive myself, but everyone else is safe.

I don't think we need worry to much about forgiving people we are all as guilty of stuff as anyone, well some more than others.... So I won't go begging for forgiveness as anything that I have done is done, and cannot be undone. My conscience feels guilt about a few issues and I have torn myself apart enough times over these so I have grown stronger for accepting my mistakes forgiving others is more than I can deal with to be honest. Those who have caused me harm are probably unaware of the real harm they caused me so it would be futile and I don't have to see them or deal with them anymore, anyhow. And life moves on regardless.

I think the person who needs my forgiveness most is myself. I sometimes beat myself up over very trivial things. I have others who need my forgiveness and they are all important, however, I don't know them as well as I do myself. And, if I offend anyone, I will be quick to forgive me. It's a good theological thing to do.

Forgiveness should come immediately after any sort of issue or dispute. Right at this moment, I forgive you for posting this question! eh!! <3

I don't have a 'forgive list' I tend to bear grudges, I can't help it, if someone has done/said something that really upset me it sticks in my mind like superglue and won't go away. Never mind, a bit of hate is healthy

Hmmm...a tie between myself and the rest of my family. I want to forgive, but how do you forgive someone who feels no remorse or regret for what they did? THAT is what I am trying to figure out...

Forgiveness is noble and a wonderful goal. But even Jesus had righteous anger.
Emotional and psychological abuse of a child is something that I find unforgivable.

I admit I bear maybe one or two long-time grudges towards people I no longer associate with nor every really think about anymore. Which pretty much renders your question moot.

My brother--who stole my identity, wrecked my marriage and did various other things that "lowered my standard of living." I can probably forgive him, but I can never again trust him.
