Oven baked turkey or fried turkey if you have a huge deep frier. Stuffing, mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce, homemade baked mac N cheese, greenbean casserole, deviled eggs, dinner rolls, corn and peas and a louisiana favorite, mirliton dressing (pronounce militawn). Yum. It is basically a chayote squash, you cut, boil, then peel off skin. In skillet, saute onions, bellpeppers, celery until soft. Then add small, fresh, not cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined if you prefer. Only cook shrimp for about 2 minutes on each side. Mash squash, mix with seasoning and shrimp mixture and breadcrumbs. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes and wala.
Occasionally, we do make a pineapple and brown sugar glazed ham or if we omit the turkey & ham, we will do a prime rib when we can afford it. Med. Rare of course with au jus.
For the New year, I do black eye peas and cabbage for money & luck. This year I am also making a ham, since we only had turkey today.
