This is a very contraversial issue as you can tell by the responses here, as for me i stand nuetral on the issue, You will always have those that say that ufos as in alien ships are a figment of the imagination and then your always going to have those who have seen something and know what they seen and its unexplainable so Nobody is correct in my opinion because as several here have said there is no evidence that alien ufo ships have visited earth but im not so sure about that and on the other hand there is no evidence that the naysayers can prove they dont so its a catch 22 until we make contact it will always be this way,,
and just as Geoff has said even if they are real and they more than likely are the great distance will be a great obsticle,
Merry Christmas,,

Yes and no. Yes, occasionally something is seen flying that one or more persons can't identify, so by definition that is a UFO, even though another observer might well be able to identify it. In the sense of UFOs being piloted by aliens, flying around watching and abducting us, no, absolutely not. There is no evidence for that, although a lot of people will try to convince you otherwise, for fun and profit. The History Channel has been promoting a lot of rubbish with this series.

The History Channel is no longer a reliable source of information. It now ranks up there with the supermarket tabloids. Sad, but true.
"UFO" means unidentified flying object, in other words, anything anyone sees in the sky that they can't identify. Astronomers and meteorologists spend their lives looking at and studying the sky, yet rarely report anything unidentified. That is because they know what to expect in the sky. UFOs are usually reported by people who rarely if ever look at the sky, and certainly have never studied it. Who do you choose to believe?
There is a high statistical probability that aliens exist, i.e. intelligent life forms elsewhere in the universe. But the chances of them ever having visited Earth, given the distances involved, is extremely small. Certainly there are no authentic documented cases of aliens n Earth.

Although History Channel or Discovery Channel or the NASA Channel say that UFOs exists that doesn´t make them real.
The History channel also presents astronomer Seth Shostak who says the probability that we have been visited by aliens is very low, or at least there is no evidence of their existence.

Your in luck. The history channel puts out some great shows about the truth behind UFO's. If you watch every show they have on UFO Files, then, you will believe.!!

I think most of the other responses have covered the possibilities nicely. It doesn't take long for a conspiracy believer to crawl out of the woodwork, though. I used to read the books and believe there was something out there and the gov't was covering it all up, etc. Remember, these sightings are usually lights at night. That means any number of possibilities with the addition of the human imagination's tendency to exaggerate a mystery. The more I educated myself in astronomy and science in general, the misunderstandings became understood. To admit that there probably are other life-forms out there (it's a big universe) doesn't mean that flying saucers are real or that we will ever meet.

Of course theyre real..........that doesnt mean theyre piloted by aliens though.......there are squillions of things in the skies every year that remain unidentified, most of them are planes, satellites, weather balloons, cloud formations, ball lightning, meteorites, fishing boat lights bouncing off clouds, or manmade hoaxes, and now were getting computer generated fakes every which way we look.
Just coz its called a UFO doesnt mean its aliens. It just means its unidentified!!.......Also that Haiti UFO is faked, the same UFO is only about 12" in diameter and is radio controlled,

I've never seen one that doesn't make them real or unreal. i sometimes think that about 95 percent of the ufo sightings are false and the other 5 percent might be real.

For most of my 52 years I've believed in E.T.'s. Now, I say NO. We've had plenty of time to observe and report, and the best science we can throw at the question says no. Not yet. The truth IS out there, and so far the answer is no.
