It's a dance for you know, teenagers, but still, (an unofficial, but still!) dress code. All dresses/skirts have to be below the knee, and shoulders must be covered. No ultra-lowcut. It's not supposed to be really formal, but here's the thing: I'm NOT a dress/skirt kinda girl. I do pants, I do capris, I do shorts, but not skirts or dresses. What should I wear?! I was wondering if some nice dress pants with heels and a dressier short-sleeve white shirt would be appropriate..? Here, I'll attatch a picture of something related to what I was thinking.

There are times in life when you wear a dress and act girly. This is party. Have fun. Be the other you for a day. For the next 365 days wear jeans.

One day you will go for a job interview, and it's all for real.

Every dance that I went to, a girl had to wear a dress or a skirt, if you insist on wearing pants, I would ask your visiting teachers or relief-society leader or mutual teacher or Bishop, because if you show up like that, they may just send you home and these people will set you straight on the standard, and I would hate to see you sent home. The men use to wear pants, a shirt and tie, so I am assuming you would be sent home.

I used to go to Church dances when I was younger, and there were girls that didn't wear dresses or skirts. You can wear whatever you want, as long as it is modest. Just dress up nice, and go have some fun.

It's expected that you'll wear a dress, and you will feel out of place if you don't. The LDS girls/women that do not wear dresses to Sunday meetings are very rare, and that's what is expected for teens to wear at this type of even - they're typical Sunday church clothes.

I think it looks cool and that you'll fit right in. If it's not formal, it's not formal. Dress nice and have fun.
