I am getting to know a lady who is in the middle of her divorce with her X-husband. We are trying to know each other, and we wanna get maaried after her divorce. We are residing in Illinois, USA. i wanna know " is my relationship with her legally OK or I have to wait until she finalize her divorce?"
I am asking because her X bothers to ask about our relationship sometimes.

There's nothing wrong with you having a relationship with her. You just can't marry her until everything is final with her divorce.

There is nothing wrong with getting to know her before her divorce. It is not illegal but I would not take the relationship further until after her divorce. Tell the ex brothers that you are friends and getting to know each other.

You should get to know her before you marry her. And he's not her ex-husband yet because they are still married. Your relationship is unethical. He's not an ex until the divorce is final, what if they change there minds.

We live together and are both married, just not to eachother. We are separated, divorce doesn't happen overnight. It is legal. A lawyer I talked to told me.

You're not in Victorian England... You can do whatever you want. You could even do her if she's still married. It might be immoral, but its certainly not illegal.
