They call abortion "murder" and themselves "Christians" yet support a war that was obviously for $$

Do you believe Jesus would've accepted the "let the inferior poors starve and die" mentality I've heard from conservatives first hand?

whcwarrior - oil is money

and you are a fool if you truly believe republicans are for aiding the lower class whose lives are getting harder and harder every day. I know people who work harder then you've probably ever worked in your entire life and they still live in poverty.

They are also selective about their sexcapades. If someone else does it, it is wrong. It is OK for them to do it, but they must be contrite when caught. What ever happened to Foley? What happened to all the leaders of the House who persecuted and prosecuted Clinton, who were found to have full time mistresses?

They would starve every poor person on earth in order to have their corporate welfare and unfair tax system.

The kind of US conservatives who call themselves christians and are also intolerant and self-righteous, seem to have a poor understanding of Jesus's life or words. Jesus hung out with the most despised members of society, chastised the leaders of the church for their love of money, and showed compassion to the sick, the poor, and the sinners.

Compassionate conservatives are sorely lacking in compassion, among other christian attributes.

I don't know. It bothers me, though. They do call themselves Christians, but I wonder if they really understand the teachings of Jesus, which are really about love and acceptance. I don't think they do.
Liberals can be pretty one-sided too. I think pretty much everyone is, regardless of your political party. And that's okay for the ordinary person...but when someone in charge of the country is very one-sided, I don't like it. It's important for someone to be open-minded.

Right is right and wrong is wrong. You cannot decide for yourself what is right and what is wrong. The scriptures lay it out quite plainly.

What you have heard did not come from conservatives, but from evil people calling themselves by that sacred label. There are few conservatives left, and they do not think that way at all. Don't go to the Republican Party for conservatives, as the vast majority are just liberals.

Because Conservatives don't really care what's Right or Wrong, only what's profitable in the short run.

Consider that Jesus also said " A man who will not work, should not eat".. kinda answers your question. If the war in Iraq was obviously for money, wheres the money??? First, you liberals say it was for oil, yet fail to produce 1 drop of oil that has been taken. Now, you claim it was for money, ok, please, show me where the money went. Sorry to burst your bubble, but haliburton has been in the middle east since the 70's.

I have run across many "liberals" who call themselves "Christians" but find it ok to kill innocent babies as a trade-off for the comfort of the mother. We are all selective but are not all logical.
