... a day to be with family, friends, loved ones. Are that many of us out here not partaking in any of the festivities that this is the only place we want to be? I have a legitimate excuse, being a cat and all. But what's with you humans anyway? (Q does not apply to those whose Christmas has already expired).

getting some great answers. Explains a lot about humans. I don't do Christmas myself, unless it's to play with the tree ornaments or wrapping paper.

Well, all of my family lives out of state, so I am spending my Christmas alone. Admittedly, the first few years were pretty tough emotionally (empty nest syndrome and all) but I realize that my family is mine to love all year round, not just at Christmas. So while I'm alone today, I am happy to speak with them via telephone...and I also eagerly look forward to the Spring when I will go visit them and spend a few weeks being able to speak with my daughter face to face and to hug and kiss my grandson :)
Trust me, there are people peeking on their computers even in the midst of all those festivities they are participating in, because the computer, like it or not, has become a vital part of our daily lives, just like television, radio or even the telephone.
If I do feel a bit blues-y, I think of all the millions of folks who are now deployed overseas and missing their families...and am thankful they are making such a sacrifice at Christmas so that we can all have Christmases and other holidays in freedom. If you click the link, here's a special present to remind us all of that fact...
"Meow-y" Christmas.

It's Christmas but some us of have a partner in jail, family mad at them for being pregnant and not giving my name to the baby, and partners family lives 4 hours away and the doc. told me not to make that drive if I'm going to be by myself, So I'm alone with nothing but the tv, my computer and the cat outside that has seemed to taken up residence at my house. Along with all of her kittens

My wife is working around the house and my kids are playing with their new Wii video games. I have the basketball game on as well. It is snowing here(unusual in Oregon), so I will probably round the kids up in a little while and walk around the neighborhood. we have relatives coming over for dinner later, so I won't be on the computer much longer.

Christmas is a great time to catch up with family and friends. Even calling them up for a chat if your not able to be physically with them.

Some people don't have family and friends could be with their families, etc., etc. Not everyone has the "perfect" Christmas situation.

I've been with my family all day and I'm going to my neighbour's house soon for dinner. This is just me waiting for everyone else to get ready.
