Edit: Hey Basset...lots of hypothetical "theys" then the kicker "you" might be a troll. I can assure you that I have no idea how to "troll" anyone. So if I just change my avatar does that make me a troll wanna be or a troll in training or maybe just someone that likes change....nah...too simple...

I don't mind it when people change their avatar, but it really does confuse me when they change their name too. I have a lot of people that I like to watch for their questions, and if they change their name, I can't find them. Sometimes, after a while, I can recognize their style of writing or they will drop a hint about who they "were" but not often.

I sometimes make changes to my avatar - like right now I have on a sweater to symbolize how cold it is, but I also have dolphins jumping in the background (you can't see them unless on IM), to symbolize where I'd LOVE to be since dolphins are only in places where the water is WARM !! LOL

Edit: Besides that it makes people think you're hiding something -- most of us have been here long enought to know who's who and when someone "disappears" we usually think they have gone into hiding because of trolls - when someone "disappears" and we know that they haven't been bothered by trolls, then we wonder if you are the troll

I changed mine because it's the name I wanted to use in the first place. I was too stupid to figure this machine out . Fourty years of doing business I never had to use one. I had a girl n the office to do this, I can make more sales being in the field, not behind a keyboard that only puts in half the characters I type in. This unit is only 4months old and works worse than an old "Smith Corona" that I used in college ! At least the typewriter has a positive responce. It make a noise every time a key was depressed . This took 10 minutesto write, on a typewriter 1 1/2 minutes. Is there a keyboard that's worth's a s**t !

I havent changed my name, I yam what I yam, as Popeye says. One of these days I will get around to putting in an avatar, soon as I take time to figure out how to load the one I want. I do wish that people who change their names would let some of the us know who you are, I for one sometimes look for certain people, and if I don't know who they are it is confusing.

As for trolls, I have no idea who any of them are, I have gotten a couple of violations myself that made no sense to me, so I guess I have been hit too. Why, I have no idea either. It has only been in the Seniors group, which makes no sense to me either, because I have met very few people on here that I didn't feel I had a connection with in some way.

I hope things smooth out here, I really enjoy this category and would hate to see it spoiled.

I happened to ask a question that was similar in nature many months ago. "They" decided to teach me lesson & now that "they" are finish with me & "they" don't have a private place to chat anymore, it appears that "they" are BAAACCCKK. Get ready to get a birds eye view of the real meaning of MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder)...it makes Cybil look like a stepford wife & the PTA look like it might now be renamed Pedofiles Taking Applications. I chalk it up to menopause & hormonal imbalances...don't waste your time worrying about this type of garbage...just step over it while you hold your nose & the wind will blow it away before you know it! "They" keep blocks on "your" avatar so "they" can track "you"...no matter what "you" change your name or avatar photo to read. "You" can only block them back & protect your own turf, because "they" love spending "their" time violating "you" in order to feed their own addictions of being #1 in their own minds. Whoever "they" are is a complete mystery & a big production for a small business venture using all of "us" VOLUNTEERS who are on "this" site. IMHO...."?"

My experience has given me enough "proof" that the users who proclaim "it's not me" are generally the biggest offenders to abusing the people they can't get to enter their fan clubs or can't fool into sending a personal email to an address that is not from this Y/A site. Getting a user to email you ensures they wil have another way to annoy you by flooding your inbox with senseless spam & possibly make a buck or two from exploiting a person who won't worship them as some sort of a God or Wizard with the power to move objects! So...watch out who you share your personal info with! This is why I am so not wanted here. I speak the truth. I share what I know with others.

I have a few avatars that I really like... but only two names that I use... I do miss my pink hair and glasses!

I agree with Bassett for what it's worth... we can change clothes all we want! I will however, stay with the two names not to confuse folks to much... the other name is what my Grandmother called me when I was small... Linahyah

It's been very sad here today, and it should have been such a good day here! Blessings to all!

We occasionally change the avatar picture but we haven't changed our name nor do we intend to. It can get confusing when names are changed and to be perfectly honest with you we don't see the point in changing the name. Some people like to do this and others don't but we are all free to do so if we so choose.

I have tons of avatars that I
love but I'm only on 2 sites where they are used. Everytime I change my user name and avatar, nobody knows me....until they read
my sarcasm that is.
I've had to change my favorite
password names 3 times due
to email spam. I really miss
my old names.

I have grown accustomed to my name and I'm not witty enough to come up with another one. I do change the clothing and background on my avatar though.. to match the seasons. I get confused sometimes when a person changes their name, but sometimes I can figure out who it is. I appreciate it when they drop hints.

I only have one YA name and I'm very comfortable with my avatar. Although, I do like to change clothes with the seasons. I can barely remember who is who around here anyway. I almost need a roster to keep up with the players!

I like to play with different looks for my avatar, depending on hairstyle & color (lol), seasons, clothes, etc, but I have only one name. It's who I am recognized as here. I can still tell who's who with avatar changes, but when names changes it makes it very difficult to keep up.---Luvs
