I think you should buy Plastation 3 because its better and the thing about Xbox360 you have to pay for it everymonth.

Console launch years only come around twice a decade or so, and they're always guaranteed to be exciting years. The 360 matured dramatically since this time last year and its second-generation titles like Gears of War and CoD3 made the PlayStation 3's job of shocking the world with its immense power rather difficult.

Nintendo's Wii launched to massive mainstream applause and a lot of hope has been placed in the potential for gaming innovation via the console's unique controller. Nintendo disappointed some, however, by choosing not embrace HDTV or to compete with Sony and Microsoft in processing power. The Wii can't even play normal DVDs.

Judging the consoles based upon a broad perspective that includes software now available and coming in the future an entirely different argument could be formulated. However, from a hardware perspective, the PS3 is by far the more interesting console. Though the launch software hasn't blown anyone away, the 360's launch titles were equally unimpressive, and the system will certainly mature. Sony's embrace of the PS3 as a computer rather than just a console, and the availability of supported Linux distributions for the console will also develop and will likely bear entirely unexpected fruit in future.

I never thought I’d say this, but it seems that Microsoft has a product that works better with the Mac than the Sony equivalent. Well, to be fair, I guess I always knew that product would be the Xbox 360.

I remember just one year ago, when I would talk to my friends about the Xbox 360. “Don’t get it,” I’d say “It’s a waste of money. Wait for the PS3 to come out. I mean, it has Blu-Ray!” Sure, the PS3 does have Blu-Ray, but it’s also more expensive than the 360, harder to get, and has a worse game line-up. But, another important issue about the Xbox 360 vs, the PS3 is Mac compatibility. Right now, the Xbox 360 looks like the better gaming system to complement your Mac. The first thing is, as Dan mentioned before, the PS3 can’t play music directly off of the iPod, while the 360 can, and does so very nicely. But, not only that, as Dan also mentioned in that post, the PS3 can’t stream music off of your Mac. Connect360 (which, you guessed it, Dan covered) allows you to stream not only unprotected music and photos from your Mac, but also Windows Media videos via Flip4Mac. Oh, and the Xbox 360 USB wired controller will work with the Mac via a special driver, while I don’t think that the PS3 even has a wired controller (but the PS3 does have Bluetooth controllers). And, of course, the white and chrome Xbox 360 goes much better with your Mac than the black and silver PS3 (unless you have a black Macbook).

So, contrary to what I may have thought a year ago, the Xbox 360 seems to be the best console to accompany your Mac. Still, to be fair, the Xbox 360 has had a year to mature, and it’s very well possible that by November 2007, Sony will have added better iPod support and streaming to the PS3. And, maybe even a white-colored model.

I'm just going to make it simple and break it down:

Xbox 360
-Red Ring of Death (33% hardware failure)
-More games now, less exclusive games in 2008
- Scratches up game discs
- Every add on has to be purchased seperately.

PS3
-Blu-Ray
-Bluetooth
-Web browser
-Free Online gaming
-Built in WiFi
- Very reliable (hardware failure rate less than 1%)
- The PS3 has the most potential for future games because of Blu-Ray and more advanced technology.

The choice is pretty simple: PS3. If that doesn't persuade you, maybe I'll list some exclusive games for the PS3 that are coming out in 2008 and later on down the road and maybe that will persuade you even more:

Metal Gear Solid 4
Haze
Killzone 2
The Getaway 3
Socom Confrontation
Final Fantasy XIII
Metal Gear Online
Gran Turismo 5
Tekken 6
LittleBigPlanet
Motorstorm 2
God of War 3
Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
Zone of the Enders 3
Star Ocean 4
Eight Days
Driver
Final Fantasy versus XIII
Heavy Rain
Infamous

What big games are coming out for the 360 in 2008.... Halo Wars (it's not going to be a FPS) and possibly Gears of War 2 in late 2008. The PS3 is the console to have for 2008 if you want the best games in the future.

I'd get a PS3 as it has loads of features, a no subscription online option (as opposed to having to pay a monthly subsciption on the XBOX 360) and the 60 GB Version of PS3 has chrome strips on the front. :)
