Why are men always depicted as being idiots in so many commercials?

I know this is just giving most commercials free advertising by asking this, but it seems like every commercial with a man and woman, they always depict the male as being incompetent. Example; the one with the man hanging the picture, but he's too stupid, so he uses the level, and the wife pats him on the back like a little kid, or where the man is using the barbecue grill and he either catches everything on fire, it explodes, or he burns everything. The list goes on and on. I am not all that adept, but, jeez louise, enough already. So women, do you think the commercials are accurate? Why are men hated and deriled so much lately? Just wondering...

Men are not hated, Men are masters of the universe! The heads of big Corporations. At home, Women are in charge. It is also Ironic, that the Keeper of Truth, Justice and the American way cannot fix the ceiling fan, or pluming, or the car, etc.etc.etc..It's a tongue in cheek advertisement. I don't watch commercials because they all are so juvenile. They even make the females seem like embeciles; like the stupid one they show around Thanksgiving where the female can't even handle a lousy turkey without dropping it.
