Men have the right idea. I am not forgiving someone for cheating and trying to work it out. If they wanted to work it out they should have worked on it instead of cheating. This might sound terrible to some of you but I also think that most women that this happens to are afraid to be on there own and take care of themselves. I think that they think staying is the safer bet. Some of them have had their self esteem ruined so much that they believe that they cannot make it with out him. They are wrong they can make it, they just do not know it.

Traditionally, women had no money or property so they literally had to forgive the man. The man owned everything so he could kick her out if she cheated. Even though that is not the case now, traditions take some time to die. Now things are starting to balance out. I have heard of so many guys that try to forgive a cheating woman.

Men don't seem to consider it cheating- they see it as fulfilling their needs- don't ask me why. However they don't all get forgiven and neither should they.

The other thought is that it is harder for a woman to walk away from her cheating rat of a man and start again- so many are still dependant on the lying rats.

because women like the drama, etc., and only like jerks and players. Let's face it women run everything because they chose men...we guys just try to be chosen by women. It is that women chose to go for jerks and players only, and then long to be considered so great that they tame the jerks and players.
We guys (typically) figure if we are to be treated that terribly, there is simply nothing good to be had, and so are better off with none than bad (the only two choices most great guys have btw), so we are more prone to leave (and rightly so). We cannot help that decent women make such foolish decisions in their lives, and most of us wish that decent women would give us a chance.

Some women are so desperate and afraid of being alone they will put up with anything and forgive anything just to hold on to their man. Men are physical creatures and they can not get the image of their woman having sex with another man out of their mind.

Best Advice, DON'T CHEAT! Men are better at guarding their hearts than women are. Women are vulnerable and needy emotionally. For those of you who don't fit the norm, Don't have a cow. Most Women are more emotionally attached. Women don't have to forgive men, they just do. They shouldn't expect things to be differently when they continue to allow themselves to be doormats.

I'm a man who has never cheated but my ex wife cheated on me with 1 of my work mates.....but in the eyes of her family, she did nothing wrong, but her brother did the same to his wife, and he was ran out of town by the same family....does that make sense?

It's the old double standard and it's never been fair. I say what's good for one is good for the other. It's the same way with the number of previous sex partners. If a guy has 20, he's a player, if a chick has 20, she's a ho. If you're the chick, it's best not to confess all your secrets.

Don't think what you say is necessarily true. Many men forgive their wives but tend not to discuss it as openly as women do when their husbands cheat. I don't think gender has anything to do with who forgives; it is an individual choice.

No she doesn't, and no he doesn't. Every marriage/relationship is different, but in betrayal, only 20% survive two years afterward, and that is with both in counseling, and both hoping to save it... So no, guys are not forgiven. It is, however, difficult for uneducated women, with no job skills and a ton of kids to raise on her own to just pack up and leave... so many stay. But the guy is not forgiven.... she's just trapped with too many mouths to feed. Forgiven? Not hardly. Just better to stay than starve... Sad, isn't it?
