I thought the Host were good and creepy, borrowing HUGELY from Robots of Death (even to the extent of chanting "Kill Kill Kill Kill" and the scene with the hand getting wedged in the door and knocked off, and the device that scrambles their circuits). The underlying villain lacked any real menace though, and the ending was both tame and lame. I think possibly the challenge of writing Christmas themes into Doctor Who is beginning to tell on the scripts. I was bored way before the end, I'm afraid, and the death of Astrid left me unmoved. I'd have to rank it as one of the low points since the show returned.

Why did the Doctor kiss Astrid TWICE in one episode, when he only kissed Martha ONCE in the whole of the last series?!!!
Great episode, but I missed Martha.

I enjoyed the Christmas special with Dr. Who, tho' it doesn't
do to enquire to closely about the Earth being at the start of the space age whilst the space ship 'Titanic' was thousand of years into the future.......

No I didn't bex.......I watched Emmerdale with my Mum. Hubby had set the video so he can watch it in peace (well relative peace) tomorrow. Afraid to say I'm not really a Doc Who fan......to many Dalek Nightmares as a child I think !!
