When I try to run the game, I get an error message telling me that separate alpha blend is not supported by either my card or my drivers. I have the latest drivers installed. Can this be fixed or do I need a better card? If so, any suggestions for a good, inexpensive card that is better than the fx 5900?

The FX 5900 series is outdated and does not meet the minimum requirements.
Get a Geforce 7600GT for abour $75 (it's better than the 7300) or an 8600GT for about $100.

I think it might be your card. COD4 is extremely graphically intense and most likely will require a better card. I have been eyeing up an Nvidia 7300GT with 512Ram and you can get it for around $100 for AGP on newegg or ebay. I hope this helps.

You deffo need a better card.
