You should call your local police. If you have information about their online habits (IE Usernames and Hang out locations online) You may want to search on Google or Yahoo for Anti Online Child Predator advocates or something to that effect. I am sure that if the info is passed along they can use it. Here are a few links with more info:

Your local police.

The agency responsible for policing the internet in the US is the US Postal Police, and the FBI also is involved if the case is across State lines. However, it's MUCH easier for you to get the complaint taken seriously at your local police station, and then THEY know the best ways to contact the FBI / USPI if necessary.

Be aware though that unless the messages are clearly sexual in nature, they aren't illegal. If that's the case, then what you already did - call and "warn off" the adults in question - is probably the best you can do.

A lot of the "preparation" and "grooming" that predators do in trying to get to a child is perfectly legal in itself, which is one of the big problems law enforcement has. By the time the conversations get to the point that they're criminal the victim has become a willing participant, helping the predator to keep it secret.

It's aggressive parenting that's the best defense. Monitor her phone calls and text messages, and watch her on the Internet.

Internet stalking is a crime whether it is a 12 year old or older. Contact your local authorities. You may also notify the FBI, but I am sure if this is a federal offense, that the locals will notify the Bureau.

I certainly hope this gets resolved with the guys behind bars for a very long time.

It is an outrageous offense. I would also block sites and monitor the internet closely when she is on it.

Best of luck in having these guys apprehended!

Start with the local, or State, police. If any of the guys are across state lines from you, then the FBI can step in. Call a local TV news show, too. They may want to do a sting story, and broadcast the details of these guys getting busted.

Are you the parents or legal gaurdian of the child? If you aren't then there is very little you can do. Calling the FBI won't help you, you will need to start at the local level.

However, if you aren't the parents then the police will not be able to help you, the parents of the girl are going to do for you either, but it doesn't hurt to ask yor local PD.

How about protecting your daughter yourself? Make sure your computer is in a public part of the house (not her room). Block websites that could be problematic (myspace, etc.). If she must have a phone, get one that doesn't have a text message feature. There's really no way you can stop every pervert out there. They may not even be in the same state as you. You do have the power to keep that trash out of your house though.

Call 911 and ask for the SVU unit. They are the ones who handle sex crimes against minors and will contact the FBI if any of those men are from out of your state as it becomes a federal offense once they cross state lines and then the FBI gets involved. Good luck.

Is it clear to these men she is 12? Ask your local authorities, you will get more attention than trying to contact the fbi

i understand your frustration. you can try going online to like dateline or something like that, and they should have a site dedicated to this kind of stuff, you can try and get a hold of the FBI or your governor. im not too sure about this, those are the only options i can think of other than the local police, and like you said you think they are involved with the local police.
