I have an Eclipse Corner 5 (with the bio wheel). I've had a betta in it for a week and a half, which is now moved into a one gallon. I bought two guppies for it, one died so now I have one left (that I know of, I'm on vacation and my neighbors supposed to be feeding it). Anyways, right now I'm thinking 3 guppies and one platy, is that too much?

It's not done cycling yet, which is why I've kept the fish down to one betta/2 guppies. No, I don't want the betta in there, i hear they are not good for guppies and I would rather use the space for another fish.

That mix of fish will be fine. Your betta would have been much happier left in the 5 gallon container. What about putting it back into the 5 with the guppy!

The betta was better off where it was! Why did you move it?! The buckets I use for water changes are bigger than the tank he's in now.

OK. No, to answer your question. You can't keep 3 guppies and a platy in a 5 gallon tank. A MINIMUM tank size for them would be 12 gallons (and that's for 1 species). Guppies and platies BOTH need to be kept in a ratio of 1 male to 2 or (preferably) 3 females because the males will stress a single female out with his need to have fry.

your guppy died because of the cycling process, and i expect your other one to die as well
IMO, you should move your betta back in there, who is really better off in a 5 gallon then in a little 1 gallon bowls
then you can add 2 male platies as well as 1 cory cat once it's cycled
and you will need a 7.5 watt heater as well for your tank, otherwise all your fish will die, since they need a constant temperature of 78-82 degrees

Hope that helps
Good luck

that sounds like an ok mix, except platys usually do better in groups. also, did you cycle the tank? if you didnt, thats why the one guppy died.
