I just finished my second month of birth control, and the period before I started taking it and the period after my first month were super light and short (yay), however, I skipped 4 of the 7 inactive pills last month trying to suppress my period, but it didnt work. I got my period anyway into the active pills. This month, my period is extremely heavy and there are a lot of clots. Is this because of skipping some of the inactive pills or that fact that I haven't been on the pill that long?

I'm definitely gonna see what happens the next couple of months just because my last two periods were great.

Try Yaz, it only has 4 inactive pills. This makes your periods lighter.

If you don't want a period you've gotta skip ALL the sugar pills. It's probably your body getting used to the pills, I doubt anything is wrong with you. I'm on the pill and usually just let myself have a period every 2 months, but they're not very heavy. If it is bothering you there is no biological imperative for a woman to have a period so you could just have none (by skipping the inactive pills).
