I am a junior in high school and looking into playing collegiate baseball. I can already go to LSU for free with academic and instate scholarships and would love to go there but I know in reality that I am not good enough to play baseball at LSU. I know that I am good enough to play at a DII or DIII college but I am not very interested because I don't want to make baseball my life. I want to play, because I love it. My social life is deffinately my number 1 priority when picking my college so I want to go to a school that has a fun atmosphere and many people. My grades are very good, (4.0 GPA) but my ACT score is a tad bit on the low side to go to a good academic school such as an ivy league school (26 ACT). I play for Louisiana's most respected summer ball team and was an all american as a 14 year old. I've received several letters from in state schools but none yet from out of state. What are some colleges that will best fit me athletically, academically, and socially?

I'm a freshman in college right now and I could have gone D1 but I decided to go D3. Playing time meant a lot to me and where I am at now I will be getting significant playing time and maybe even starting. You gotta look at what is most important for you. You can come to where I'm at haha but it's a little far for you....just make a good decision for you and make sure you know what you want. If you need any help with anything then let me know...

I recommend Southern Illinois University. The Salukis have finished as high as second in the CWS and play in the Missouri Valley Conference along with Wichita and other perennial powerhouses.
The campus is beautiful and was rated #3 in the country by Playboy Magazine in 1965. They have a building program in progress to refurbish the football stadium, basketball arena, and library.
The baseball field is near Lake Thompson in a scenic area.
S.I.U. has about 15,000 students and a very active social life. Because it is not near a major city, most of the students stay on campus during the weekends.

Georgia Tech.
With your GPA and interests I think Georgia Tech is your best bet.
In addition to having an outstanding baseball team it is a great school for academically gifted students.
With you GPA you should be able to get a scholarship. Socially it a just a good school not the best but being in Atlanta there is a lot to do and see.

Even though you don't live in Michigan, check out Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Bronco's have had great baseball teams and WMU is known as a party school.

There are many good D III schools both academically and socially, good luck in finding one that suits your needs.

I would say that it depends on what your major will be. Go to a school that offers what you plan on studying and will give you a scholarship.
All the best to you whatever you may choose.
